Norman Stanley Sandahl

November 30, 1926 - November 3, 2011

Tribute

1926 – 2011

In the early morning hours of Thursday, November 3, 2011, Norman Stanley Sandahl passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home in Cranbrook. He is the beloved husband of 54 years to Fay and the loving father and grandfather to six children; Faylee, Carol, Steven, Philip, Roger and Eric, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Audrey.

Norm spent his early life as a Merchant Marine and served with the Canadian Signals Regiment. He was an active member of the Legion to this day and past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Power Engineer and a Safety Inspector for many years. In his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at various venues, including the Blue Lake Camp. Norm was a very supportive soul and always encouraged those around him to do their best. In Norm”s mind, it didn”t matter if you were first just as long as you tried your hardest.

A Celebration of Norm”s Life will be held at the St. Eugene Resort, Shuswap Room on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Blue Lake Forest Education Society, 2279 Cranbrook St. N., Cranbrook, BC V1C 3T3. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.
