Colin Glen Stremel
Aug 16, 1967 – Feb 27, 2011
The family of Colin Glen Stremel announce his passing at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the age of 43 years. Colin was born on August 16, 1967 in Nelson, BC. Colin has embraced his life to the fullest with so much grace, dignity and tact. He loved his family and friends completely and was always true to them. We were all so fortunate to be his friend. Life was a journey for Colin but he always kept a positive outlook and never complained. He loved children immensely and was known as “uncle” to all of them. Colin had many passions in his life, but one that stood out so much was his love for country music. He had a huge sense of humor and a wonderful laugh that we will never forget.
Colin was always very active in Kimberley and the events that went on there. He supported the Kimberley Dynamiters, was very involved with the Kidney Foundation and the Community Health Council until the hospital closed in Kimberley. Colin was also active in his current home as a member of the resident”s council at Gardenview Village.
Colin leaves to mourn his passing his parents; Beryl and Georg Stremel; three brothers; Bruce (Janie), Howard (Brenda), David and his sister Kathy (Ted) Murrell. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and a wonderful network of friends.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kimberley. Colin”s wishes were to have memorial donations made to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health, 13 – 24th Ave. N., Cranbrook, BC V1C 3H9.
