Vagn Dahl Jensen

February 2, 1933 - November 21, 2024

Tribute

Vagn was born in Denmark in 1933.  He was raised with three siblings in a one-bedroom apartment.

He took an electrical apprenticeship as a teen and went on to work with the National Service in the Merchant Marine which took Vagn all around the world.  After living in both New Zealand and Australia, Vagn came to Canada to work on the St Lawrence Seaway project in Ontario.  He found his way to BC, settling in the East Kootenays.  He worked on the Columbia River Dam projects, helped to build the Elk Valley coal mining infrastructure, and worked on multiple other projects around the region.  Vagn retired at age 50 and spent his years traveling, skiing, canoeing, fishing, biking and spending time with his family and many friends, often in the company of Sidney, his beloved Great Dane.

Vagn was predeceased by his parents, his sister Kirsten and brother Svend.  He is survived by his sister Karen, in Denmark, and nieces and nephews in Canada and in Europe.
