Tribute

In loving memory of
TYLER RUSSELL FRUIN
It is with truly heavy hearts that we announce the passing
of Tyler Russell Fruin of Kimberley, British Columbia, on
September 9, 2026, at the age of 39.
Tyler’s life was not without sadness and struggles; however,
his bright and cheerful disposition always managed to shine
through. In this time of heartbreak, so many happy memories fill
our hearts and remind us of the incredible person he was. Angels’
wings now carry him home.
Born on October 19, 1986, in Oshawa, Ontario, Tyler was loving,
courageous, caring, and fearless. He was truly one of a kind.
Ty loved his animals. His dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs were a source of light
and comfort in his life. He was a huge music fan and also played guitar. We will always
remember his unmistakable barroom baritone, singing along to Dropkick Murphys and
Social Distortion while he worked, headphones blasting in his ears.
Tyler was an avid skier, fisherman, and daring dirt-bike rider. His family and friends knew him
as a man who lived full tilt, with no half measures. He embraced life with an adventurous
spirit and never did anything halfway.
His sisters, Momma, and family in Oshawa will always remember him as a deeply caring
and generous young man who would have given the shirt off his back without ever being
asked. He was loyal and a protector to his family, his absence will be deeply felt by everyone
who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Tyler is survived by his wife, Leah; mother, Linda (Paul); father, Russell (Lorrie); sisters,
Natasha (Yousef) and Madison; brothers, Mac and Carter; aunt Sally and uncle Pitzy; aunt
Sue and uncle Norm; and uncle Neal (Dora).
He was loved unconditionally by all of us and will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
Thou wast not born for death immortal bird, no hungry generations tread thee down. How
long will we love you? As long as stars are above you, and longer by far..

In Loving Memory of My Brother

Losing you feels impossible to put into words. You were my brother, but you were so much more than that. You were my best friend. My protector. My partner in crime. My wild, crazy brother who could turn any ordinary day into a story I’d remember forever.

You were the party animal, the dirt biker, the one who loved to roughhouse with me until we were both laughing. The one who was always ready for an adventure. Yet somehow you always made me feel safe knowing you were there. You drove me absolutely crazy sometimes, but I would give anything to have one of those silly moments back.

I keep thinking about us when we were little. You were my napping buddy. We’d just lay there together, completely unaware of how fast life would go or that one day I’d be wishing with everything in me that I could go back to those days. Spending those quiet moments together before we even understood how precious those memories would become.

And I will never forget you promising me you wouldn’t rip out my first tooth… only to rip that damn tooth out anyways. That was you. You could make me laugh, make me mad, scare the hell out of me, and make me feel safe all at the same time.

Those are the memories I’ll hold onto forever the laughter, the craziness, the arguments, the adventures, the stupid things we did, and all the moments that made you you.

I don’t know how I’m supposed to accept that you’re gone.

I’m going to miss your laugh. Your craziness. Your stubbornness. Your wild side. I’m going to miss knowing that my big brother was out there somewhere. I’m going to miss having you here to annoy me, protect me, laugh with me, and make memories with me. You were one of a kind. You lived life your way, with a wild heart and a personality nobody could ever forget. And no matter how much time passes, you will always be my big brother, my protector, and my best friend.

There are so many things I wish I could say to you. So many things I wish I could do one more time. I wish I could hug you. I wish I could hear your voice. I wish I could sit beside you and laugh about all the stupid shit we did growing up. I wish I could have one more day with you. One more ride. One more laugh. One more roughhouse. One more nap. One more chance to tell you how much I love you.

I would give anything for just one more day.

You weren’t supposed to leave me this soon.

A piece of me went with you, and I know I’ll carry this pain for the rest of my life. But I’ll also carry you with me. In every memory. Every laugh. Every crazy story. Every time I think about those days when we were kids.

I hope wherever you are, you’re riding fast, causing trouble, partying like you always did, and looking down on us.

And when I get there someday, I hope you’re waiting for me like you always did.

I love you more than words could ever say.

Until we meet again, big brother. Watch over me like you always did.

I love you forever. ❤️

Ride wild, party hard, and save me a spot up there. 🕊️🏍️

-Your little sister Maddy
