Troy Steven Neale

May 2, 1970 - March 18, 2012

TROY STEVEN NEALE passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in the early morning of Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the age of 41 years. Troy was born May 2, 1970 to Jack and Judy Neale.

Troy was a truly happy person that led a very busy and active life. He loved participating in many outdoor activities including golf, hunting and fishing. Additionally Troy was particularly passionate about competing as a tri-athlete. He loved to play hockey and contributed so much to the game as referee, volunteer and coach. And above all, Troy loved spending time with his wonderful Daughters.

Troy was employed by Tembec, Canal Flats Division as an apprentice millright, lumber grader and was an IWA Union representative for many years. His involvement within the community helped to keep Canal Flats safe as an EMT often responding to late night calls. Troy also worked in the Riverside Golf pro-shop and as a ski patroller at the Fairmont Ski Hill. Troy was a dedicated individual and loved to make a positive difference in his well lived life.

Troy leaves behind to mourn his passing the loves of his life; his two beautiful daughters Megan and Savanna. He also leaves his parents; Jack and Judy Neale; one sister Tami (Rick) Prasad and one brother Tom (Kelley) Neale as well as six nieces and nephews; Josh, Jessica, Dillon, Brianna, Donavan and Illeana. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, his beloved friends Doug and Lynn Wood and the Plante family.

A Memorial Service will be held at McPherson Funeral Chapel in Kimberley on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Following the service, the celebration of Troy”s life will continue at the Elks Hall in Kimberley. Please accept our sincerest, deepest condolences on the lost of your daddy, son, brother, uncle, and our friend Troy. He is in a peaceful place now. We truly had many good times as families, camping, playing cards and just hanging out with Troy, Nat and the girls. We are taking comfort in those memories and hope that you will all take comfort in your memories with him too. Girls, he is looking down on you from heaven and will guide you in your lives as he LOVES you both so very much.

Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire Neale family. The memories that Troy left for us will always be printed in our hearts and will leave us with a smile. The look he would give when he was trying to convince you he had an awesome hand in cards or the time he ran to the safety of the house because he thought there was a bear in the yard and it turned out to just be the neighbors dog! It was truly an honour to know Troy and he will be deeply missed. Love Ed, Michelle & Brendan Kovalsky

Until I retired I was the President at Skookumchuck and Troy and i had many union chats; and indeed we worked together when we borrowed a few guys from the flats. My thoughts are with all of you.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to the family at this time, I am glad I got to see Troy last summer, when you brought him in for ice cream.

Jack, Judy, Tami, Tom and families,

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Troy. I was aware that he had been sick through talking with mom and my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time.

I have many fond memories of Troy from playing ball as kids to working together at the Kimberley Golf Course and one crazy fishing trip we took to Kootenay Lake when we were 19 or 20. We shared a lot a great laughs a long time ago but I remember them like they were yesterday !

I just wanted to drop a quick line to let you know we are thinking about you and your families as you go through this difficult time but to also let you know that even though it has been a long time since I had a visit with Troy that I truly admired him as a friend and will always look back on those years with fond memories.

Thinking of you all,

I want to express my sympathy for Troy’s passing. I have not had contact with Troy since our graduation in 1988 but I was always very fond of Troy and his brother Tommy who I worked with at the Sullivan Mine. Troy was everyone’s friend and I will always remember his smile. That is easy because he was always smiling ! I want to express my sincere sympathy to all of Troy’s family. Troy will always be a positive influence in my memories and in my heart. All the best……Darryl Orr and Family, Trail, B.C.
