Timothy James Bartlett

April 4, 1960 - February 20, 2022

Tribute

Sadly at 2 am, February 20, 2022 Tim took his last breath with his beloved wife Kelly at his side.  Tim was born in Truro, Nova Scotia on April 4, 1960, son of Jim and Joan Bartlett and a brother to two sisters, Bonnie and Cathy.

The world was a better place because of Tim and all that he put of himself into it.

Tim lived life like no other, his was not one who was materialistic but of friendship and love, both of which he was very good at.

Tim had many friends, from all those he went to school with, to the very special men and women he worked with for many years, and even those he only had a short time with he formed a bond with at Canfor.  He had a special “family like” relationship with many of his coworkers and a few were like his brothers.  Tim enjoyed going to work just to see all the “guys”, listen to and tell his stories.

Tim’s friendship with the people he spent many hours with at the local race track where he found his passion and love of everything with wheels that was fast and loud. He could fix anything with an engine, a carb and wires. Tim will forever be known as #25.  If fixing Tim were only as easy as a carb and a wire harness he would have fixed himself even if he had to use ford parts to do it!  Tim also leaves to mourn his childhood and best friend Don Heisler.  They were pretty much tied at the hip from grade school on.  They shared the same passion for cars and never a race car built or race day went by that you didn’t find Don and Tim together.  I learned that there is such a thing as a “Beohemian Bush *** ger”.  Tim had some kind of “pet” name for everyone and this was his for Don.  I’d like to think that Don got the best one because Tim thought the most of him.  Don’s children and our children grew up together.  Sadly, when Don’s daughter Amanda passed away Tim took it very hard too.  Well now she can have her Uncle Timmy to hug and visit with.

Tim was an amazing family man and was adored by all in our families. He was genuine and honest with everyone.  Tim was a patient teacher and an amazing father. He accepted Kelly with her two children and together they grew as a wonderful family.   Tim became the most amazing father and daddy to Crystal and Michael.  “Dad” was like a badge of honor for him and loved being a daddy. He loved and protected his little girl and was proud of his son and taught them both all he possibly could.

So when he became a “Papa” it was like a trophy, and when he first heard  “Z” whisper “Papa”, it was like he won the race. From then on “Papa” was his name more than “Dad”.  Zander, Heath, Robert, Michael, Taylor, Carson, Adeline, Kieran, and Remington…all had him wrapped around their little fingers.  Even little Kelly, from the moment she came into our lives, was like his daughter and forever his little “ Squeak”.

Tim and Kelly were together for nearly 35 years, they loved each other so completely that through  all the ups and downs that life threw at them they hung on, worked things thru, compromised when they needed to and loved each other thru it all.

Tim had a special almost twin like bond with his sister Bonnie and he hung on until she was able to come home and say goodbye.  Tim always felt his youngest sister Cathy had some of his passion for cars.

One of the last things Tim said was, “Lucky, quit breathing on my face!”, Lucky was Tim’s childhood dog and in that I know he is in a better place as Lucky had been waiting for him and was here to help him cross over and be at peace.

Missing people is a part of this world and without the sadness we cannot taste the sweet and Tim was my sweet. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring except that I am one day closer to being with you again my love.

Tim will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife Kelly, his children Crystal (Jeramy) (Zander, Heath, Robert, Remington, Tyler, Brin) – Michael (Brianna) (Michael, Taylor, Carson, Adeline, Kieran) – his sisters  Bonnie (Dean)(Curt) and  Cathy (Tom)(Cameron) and many friends and family

Tim was predeceased by his Mom (Joan) April 4th 2007 and his Dad (Jim) January 4th 2022.

We are having a Celebration of Life in honor of Tim at 2 pm, Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the old Cranbrook Speedway.
