I am sorry to hear of Susan’s passing. I worked with Susan at the Thrift Store for several years. She was a good to work with and a pleasant woman. My sympathies to the family.
From: Tammy White
Relation: She was my friends mother
Hi ladies, It’s Tammy, I just came across your mom’s obituary and had to send my condolences to all of you. I feel like I have never not known your mom, Chrissy said that to me many years ago. I remember when we were 14 or 15 Alison, Janet hadn’t been living at home for a while and Chrissy had recently moved out, and your mom and dad were watching the Benny Hill show ( I think) some old, dry, English humour show. It was the first time I met your parents, and I felt the love and warmth of your home, as I write this I realize where you and Chrissy got your sense of humour! Alison you
were my best friend for so many years we spent so many milestones of life together, which I treasure. I also spent many years with Chrissy, you were still in Calgary, later on in life when Hailey was a few months old and those memories I have always treasured .
Having spent my teens into my 30’s I want to acknowledge what kind of woman your Mom was to me when I think of all the things and all the times in 30 years. Now that I’m 56 years old the first words that come to my mind when I think of your mom is – Boss Lady ! This woman was present for you ladies your entire life in a rare way. No matter what was going on in your lives good or bad, big or small, your beautiful mother was always there for you girls and your children. All those years I can honestly say I only seen her upset if is she was going to be late for work, she loved her job. I could tell she was upset by her walk, she just walked her little walk a bit faster as she was leaving your home Chrissy. This when I decided to do the morning school day, pick ups for the kids and your Mom only had to pick up Hailey in the mornings! I can still hear her calling Christine in my head like it was yesterday, and the way she said your name Alison when she was upset with you, her accent was a bit stronger. When your dad died she never spoke of her loss, and I saw the sadness in her eyes. I witnessed her strength as she kept motivated and consistent with her undivided love, care and attention and time spent with Hailey., while still fully involved with everyone else. Your mother was a beautiful human who loved you ladies and all your children unconditionally. For a little English lady like my Gran she taught life lessons that instil values, manners, respect, empathy, and love plus many other qualities that make a good person, just by showing up and being there, you were all blessed with an amazing mother, I’m sad I only came across her obituary now. I had to express my feelings and thoughts about her, maybe me coming across this now adds some comfort in knowing that an old friend feels deeply saddened for all of for you with the loss of your Mother. My love and condolences, Tammy White
