On the evening of Sunday, July 6, 2014, Robert “Cecil” Collinson passed away peacefully at the F. W. Green Memorial Home in Cranbrook at the age of 95 years. Cecil was born on May 22, 1919 in Guisborough, Yorkshire, England to Robert and Margaret Collinson.
Cecil leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 73 years, Lillian; his daughter Deanna (Frank) and his son Alan (Sharon) as well as three grandsons; Tim (Cheryl), Jamie and Kevin and one granddaughter, Heather. He also leaves behind three great grandchildren; Robbin, Tyrel and Timmy as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cecil was predeceased by his parents, his brother Ben (Pearl) and his twin brother Harold.
A Memorial Service will be held for Cecil on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Mark Memorial Funeral Home, 2024 Industrial Road No. 2, Cranbrook. A private family interment will take place before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the FW Green Memorial Home, 1700 – 4th St. S., Cranbrook, BC V1C 6E1.
