Richard (Rick) John Vinet

January 11, 1948 - July 21, 2025

Tribute

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father Rick Vinet at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on July 21, 2025, following a courageous battle with COPD and cancer.

Born in Vancouver, BC on January 11, 1948 Rick resided in several cities before settling in Cranbrook 15 years ago.  He came to Cranbrook to be close to his girls and grandkids.  Rick will fondly be remembered for his unique sense of humour and love of pranks. His friendly easy-going nature will forever be missed by friends and co-workers. Rick cherished his family and he never turned down  a dinner invite at his daughter Becky’s – especially if chicken and dumplings was on the menu,. He looked forward to catching up with his son-in-law on all the latest politics and hearing about his work adventures.  Sneaking up on his granddaughter Berlynn was always rewarded with good screams. Although his daughter Jolene lives out of province he looked forward to their regular phone dates  and the quality  time they spent together when she came  down for a  visit.
Rick enjoyed woodworking, golfing,  cooking and crossword puzzles.

Rick is survived by his two daughters Becky (Jeremy) and Jolene, his Grandchildren Domnick, Jagger, Berlynn, Coralee and Cruzlynn, his great grandson Archer and his sister Heather. He is predeceased by his mother and father Rose and John and sister Carol.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

As per Rick’s wishes there will be no service.
