Raymond Leo Joseph Gendron, lovingly known as Ray, lived a life rooted in family, hard work, kindness, and quiet strength. He was a man who carried himself with pride and purpose, but also with warmth, humour, and a deep love for the people who meant the most to him. In his final days, surrounded by loved ones, Ray left this world peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

Born on February 28, 1940, in Pre St. Marie, Saskatchewan, to Phil and Florida, Ray grew up in a busy home with seven siblings. Those early years helped shape the steady, dependable man he became. In 1962, he married Ivy, the love of his life, and together they built a life filled with family, shared memories, and devotion. Their nearly 50 years of marriage were a testament to love, commitment, and partnership, and Ivy’s passing in 2012 left a space in Ray’s heart that never truly closed.

Ray found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He loved vacations and camping trips with family, time spent golfing, kayaking on the water, and dancing whenever the opportunity came along. He worked for many years as a parts man and took pride in doing his work well. Even his time as an owner-operator of a logging truck reflected his willingness to take on new challenges and provide for the life he and Ivy were building together.

One of the most special chapters in Ray’s later life was the bond he shared with his beloved dog, Silas. Silas was more than a pet; he was Ray’s loyal companion and trusted friend. Whether at home or out on an adventure, Silas was never far from Ray’s side. Their companionship brought joy, comfort, and laughter, and the sight of the two of them together will remain a treasured memory for family and friends.

Ray will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Lori, his son Derek and Nadine, his grandchildren Chris and Ilia, Cody and Kelsie, Jessica and her fiancé Jereme, and Katelyn, as well as his great-grandchildren Caitlyn and her fiancé Nevada, Madison, Hayden, Chance, Lincoln, and Olivia. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, strength, and steady love.

As Ray wished, no memorial service will be held. Instead, those who loved him can honour his memory in the quiet ways he would have appreciated most: by sharing stories, holding family close, enjoying the outdoors, offering kindness, and remembering a life well lived.

Ray will be deeply missed and forever cherished. His love, his strength, and the memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
