Melvin Arthur Pelkey

We are sad to announce the passing of Melvin Arthur Pelkey at the age of 87. He worked for Crestbrook in Cranbrook for over 40 years, where he made many lasting memories and friendships.
Throughout his lifetime, Mel enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and hunting. He also greatly enjoyed his coffee times with his friends on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These simple moments, shared with good friends, were a special part of his life and will be deeply missed.
Mel is survived by his wife, Lucille, of Kimberley; his son Art from Airdrie, Alberta.; his stepdaughter Robin Martin (Vancouver, BC); his stepson David Martin, (Michelle), of Cranbrook, BC; and his much-loved grandson, Kyus Martin.
Also surviving Mel are his sister Carolyn from Surrey, BC, along with many nieces and nephews from Cranbrook and Surrey.
Mel will be remembered for the life he shared with his family and friends, the memories he created, and the many people whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service at Mark Memorial will be held at a later date.
