Marianne Anna Swann (Nimrichter)

September 4, 1929 - December 17, 2016

Tribute

On the morning of Saturday, December 17, 2016, Marianne Anna Swann passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years.

Mom was a very unique, feisty, stubborn and extraordinary lady.  She had a great sense of humour and we all had a great time ribbing each other.   She had a passion for everybody and did everything she did with all her heart.  Marianne didn’t have an easy life.  She was the eldest of a very large family and mothered her younger siblings.  Some of her siblings call her “mom.

Marianne leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life, Jack McKay…her companion for at least the last 15 years as well as her two daughters Linda (Rudy) and Pinky (Randy).  Also left behind are her grandchildren Lee (Julie), Rae, Scott, Tara (John) and Joe (Bambi); her great grandchildren Bryton, Rebecca, Rylie, Kate, Ella, Georgia, Hudson, Calli and Presley  and one great grandchild, Aubree.  Marianne leaves behind many brothers and sisters as well as her sister-in-law, Anne.  Marianne was predeceased by her parents, several  siblings,  her two husbands, Kurt Erletz and Fred Swann and her son-in-law, Wayne Wendland.

A Celebration of Marianne’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 1 – 3 pm at the Kimberley Elks Lodge,  240 Howard Street, Kimberley, BC.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com

Marianne was such a dear part of my life, I will miss her very much as I am sure will anyone who knew her. Her and my grandpa Mckay have been together for a significant part of my life and I very much considered her my grandma. I was lucky to have her in my life and so happy for all the times we spent together. I wish we could be there to celebrate this amazing woman, but am unable to attend. My condolences go out to the family and especially great love and condolences to my Grandpa.
