Maria Teresa Ciano (Rossi)
May 12, 1929 - May 9, 2014
Tribute
Maria Teresa, (nee Rossi) born May 12, 1929 in Careri, Reggio Calabria, Italy, passed away peacefully in Cranbrook, B.C. on May 9, 2014. Predeceased by her loving husband Bruno, her mother Giuseppa Rosa, her father Giuseppe Antonio, her sister Concetta, her brother Rocco, her sister Elisabetta and her sister Rosalia. Lovingly remembered by sons Aldo (Noriko), Frank (Ellen) and Tony; brothers Tony (Carmela-deceased) ( Nunzio (Giuditta) and Giuseppe (Rosina) and sister Carmela (Luigi), and in Italy, sister Maria (Antonio) along with several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Teresa arrived in Canada in 1955, and raised her three sons while also working outside the home from time to time. She was a wonderful mother, well-renowned for her cooking, baking and giving away her garden’s plentiful bounty. Her birthday often fell on Mother’s Day.
Over the many years, she enjoyed the kindness and warmth of family and friends whom she always welcomed into her home and garden. She had a lively sense of humour and a strong will. She was a compassionate listener and a great friend and confidante. We will miss her dearly.
Prayers for close, personal friends and family will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Mark Memorial. A private funeral service for family will be held at Mark Memorial on May 14, 2014 at 11:00 am.
Entombment at the Cranbrook Mausoleum will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may make donations in Teresa’s memory to her beloved Saint Anthony of Padua Mission Aid.
