Lucia Anne Wertnitznig

Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucia Anne Wernitznig at Joseph Creek Acute Care Village on the morning of Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

Lucia was born in Cranbrook of July 1st, 1941 and spent her early childhood in Canal Flats until her family moved to reside in Kimberley where she completed her schooling.  Lucia moved to Cranbrook together with her Mother Frances, in 1975.

Lucia is survived by her sister, Susan (Grahame) Dunlop, her nephew, Justin (Sarah) Dunlop, their two sons Rhys and Orin, her niece Meghan (James) Hatala, their two sons, Carter and Lincoln, and her nephew Jake Wernitznig (girlfriend Candice).  She was predeceased by her Father, Jacob and her Mother, Frances (nee Nemrava), her brother Frank Wernitznig and her sister-in-law Cherry Wernitznig.

There will be no service by Lucia’s request.  Cremation has taken place.  A private graveside memorial will take place at a later date in Kimberley, B. C.

Special thanks to all the staff of Joseph Creek Care Village for all the support, kindness and care given to Lucia for the last several years.

Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Lucia’s honour may do so to a charity of your own choice.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.

I remember taking Lucia to our 40th high school reunion, she really enjoyed it and my wife Barb and I enjoyed spending our time with her at the reunion. May she rest in peace.
