Louis ("Lou") Emil Daignault
September 9, 1957 - November 2, 2025
Tribute
On Sunday, November 2, 2025, Lou Daignault passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness with COPD.
Lou was born on September 9, 1957 in Cranbrook to John and Margaret (Cervo) Daignault, the eldest of their three children. He shared a very close bond with his grandfather, Mario Cervo, and treasured the many hours they spent together. Lou carried those memories with him throughout his life.
For 31 years, Lou worked in the trucking industry, proudly driving his logging truck. Over those decades, he formed many lasting friendships and was well respected by those he worked alongside.
Lou is survived by his three sons: Wade (Melanie), David (Chantalle), and Darren and Jamie, the mother of his children; and his five grandchildren: Sierra, Wyatt, Cash, Deklan, and Daxton. He also leaves behind his sisters, Shelley Daignault and Tracey Rutten (Jim). He was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret Daignault, and by his wife, Diane Daignault.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026beginning at 5:00 pm at the Cranbrook Alliance Church . Following the service, Lou’s trucking friends will honour him with a trucking convoy to give him a true trucker’s send-off. All are welcome to attend and join in the convoy.
Memorial donations may be made in Lou’s memory to the Go Fund Me page for Lou’s final expenses at the attached site. https://www.gofundme.com/f/xas5j-lou-daignault.

I’m sorry to hear of lou’s passing as kids we had alot of fun horse back riding playing games and spending time traveling with my dad to parts of Alberta to buy horses or just visit uncles . One time out riding we came across a new born deer tangled in a wire fence no mom around we gathered it up and brought it home . Dad called fish and wild life who came retrieved the baby and it was sent to the Calgary zoo happy ending 💕As we grew older our lives grew apart I had my family and he his , but the memories will last as long as can be remembered. It was a beautiful service and you will be missed 💕
