Tribute

Lloyd Ryan
December 7, 1926 – September 6, 2011

It is with great sorrow that the family of Lloyd Ryan announce his passing on Tuesday, September 06, 2011 in the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Lloyd was born in Calgary, Alberta on December 7, 1926, eldest child of Annie and Oscar Ryan. He married the love of his life – Marjorie on March 22, 1951 and they began their family shortly after. While in Calgary, Lloyd was an employee of Alpha Dairy. In 1962, Lloyd and Marjorie moved their family to Kimberley where Lloyd started his career as manager of Ryan’s Tire in Kimberley and later Mister Tire. After retiring in 1984 Lloyd put a lot of his energy into volunteering for many organizations in Kimberley, such as Meals on Wheels, KIOTAC, Julyfest and his favorite, the Sullivan Mining Railway.
Lloyd was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He adored his family and would do anything for them, especially his grandchildren Ryan and Jennifer. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Lloyd leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years – Marjorie; Son Rick (Pat) Ryan; Daughter Carole (Rick) Rausch; Grandchildren Ryan & Jennifer Rausch, Stacey & Brent Kelly; Brother Albert Ryan; Sister Dorothy Banon; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Annie & Oscar Ryan and brothers Roy, Ronnie & Donnie.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, 1:00 pm at the Kimberley United Church, #10 Boundary Road, Kimberley, BC.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Lloyd can be made to the Sullivan Mine & Railway Historical Society, Box 94, Kimberley, BC V1A 2Y5. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com
