Lillian "Gail" McColl (Brown)
July 3, 1944 - August 14, 2024
Tribute
Lillian Gail McColl (nee Brown) born 3 July, 1944, to Joyce and Evan Brown of Kimberley, B.C., passed away peacefully and with dignity on August 14, 2024 surrounded by family and friends.
Gail lived nearly all her years in Kimberley and was grateful to be encircled by the beauty and grandeur of nature. She worked for many years at Cominco. She found sustenance in life through sharing in
community and the people she was fortunate to know. She was a natural athlete and thrived skiing, playing ball, fishing, camping plus travel and adventuring far and wide whenever possible. Her two other passions were a green thumb – her garden was a marvel to behold – and her love of four-legged fur
babies that brought so much love into her life.
Those who knew her were blessed to learn from Gail through her life experiences, joy of laughter and her keen sense of humour. She saw the value of family, community, and volunteerism and gave freely of
her time to many worthy endeavors; in her early years as a volunteer with BC Ambulance, Seniors helping Seniors, the AA community, and the Go-Go Grannies to name only a few.
Gail extends her thank Dr. R. Nash, Dr. L. Wik, Dr. K. McIver and the Interior Health MAiD team for their guidance and care. Gratitude also for the many kindnesses from the dear friends, residents, and staff at Garden View.
She is survived by her four children: Velma (Arie), Mike (Sophia), Carl, and Rusty (Marcel). She has four wonderful grandchildren: Russ (Nicole), Mikalyn (Ryan), Kai and Darby, and she was blessed with a great granddaughter and her namesake Lily. She was predeceased by her father Evan Brown (1969), her brother Garth Brown (1987) and her mother Joyce Brown (1993).
Gail extends heart felt gratitude to Rochelle and Randy Wallach, Aileen and Duff Boyd, and Sharon Rhodes for their valued friendship. Her deepest thanks to all of you who touched her life.
A celebration will be planned at a future date. Memorials can be made on the Mark’s Memorial website and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary Loan Cupboard, or
Kimberley Shared Ministries.
See the beauty, find the good, and spread kindness, love and acceptance.

Gail was always the nicest, kindest, most athletic girl in our neighborhood on Lindsay street in Kimberley. She was a childhood friend which developed and continued on to later years when she volunteered with the senior groups. She was a blessing to everyone who was privileged to have known her and will be sadly missed by all. R.I.P Gail…love you!❤️
