Kenneth (Ken) Sidney Hall

October 19, 1938 - July 2, 2023

Tribute

Kenneth Sidney Hall (84) husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2023 surrounded by his loving wife Glenna of 67 years and family members.

Ken was born to Joe and Catherine Hall in Kimberley on October 19, 1938 and spent his youthful years growing up in Marysville. His father Joe instilled a passion and introduced him to love of the outdoors and he constantly reminded us of the wonderful times he spent in the St. Mary’s Valley hunting, fishing and huckleberry picking with his parents and siblings.  He passed that love of the outdoors to his children and they in turn have introduced their children to that same love of the outdoors.  We know he is proud of that legacy and would wish for it to continue.

Ken is survived by his wife Glenna and five children, Kenneth Leslie (Sherri), Danny (Trish), Barbara, Darlene (Keith) and Carolynne (David).

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is survived by three brothers, Larry, Bruce and David and one sister Heather.

Ken was predeceased by his parents Joe and Catherine, his brother John and sisters Betty and Carole and his best friend and fishing partner Russell (son-in-law).

The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Garden View for their kindness and support over the past year.

Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Van Zyl and Dr. Tetrault from Kimberley and Dr. Rolfe and Dr. Fok from Kelowna, and all the staff at ALS BC and Interior Health.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory can be made to ALS Society of BC, (alsbc.ca) and or the Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary Loan Cupboard.

In respecting Ken’s wishes, there will be no service.  A private family gathering will occur at a later date.

Sorry to hear that Ken passed away. I am thinking of you Glenna, it was a joy to see the two of you together. It was always good to hear the fond words you had for each other.

Relation: Friend

My deepest condolences to Glenna and the Hall family. I’ll forever be grateful for the memories of meeting Kenny, Glenna, Barb and Russ on their many fishing junkets to Kootenay Lake. It is really where I got to know and appreciate Ken as the individual he was. His personality, great love of the outdoors and that Kimberley heritage we mutually shared made him particularly special. Someday we’ll meet on the other side of the river. You’ll have the fish figured and some dandy fly patterns prepared to catch em. I feel a great sense of privilege to have known you.
