February 20, 1941 - July 19, 2024
Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith (Judy) Ann Renick on July 19, 2024, at Cranbrook Hospital. Born on February 20, 1941, in Cranbrook, B.C., Judy lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family, friends and church.
Judy capably worked as a unit clerk at East Kootenay Regional Hospital, where she was known for her compassionate care and dedication to her colleagues and the patients. Judy did a tremendous job marked by excellence.
Judy was an avid golfer and proudly served on the Executive at the Cranbrook Golf Course. She loved playing cards with her wonderful family and friends. Judy also had a passion for collecting hockey cards and often passed cards along to friends who also shared in the hobby.
She was the beloved daughter of George and Pearl Renick. She is survived by her brother Jim, of Red Deer, AB, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother John, and her sisters Georgetta (Vesper/Shaw), Loretta (Mio), Inez (Wilkinson), Marie (Atwood), Mae (Penny/Wilson), and Evelyn (Simmons).
Though Judy never married, her life was rich with friendships and family bonds. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her. Judy’s legacy is one of extreme kindness, service, and love. She will be deeply missed.
Judy’s close friends and family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the physicians, and nurses who so capably cared for her during her last admission to EKRH. You made a difference.
The family would also like to thank Lyle Blythe, Susan Young, Eleanor Pighin, and Anne McMichael for your friendship and the extreme kindness shown to Judy over these last years.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at the Cranbrook Golf Course, Fox and Hounds Room on August 15, 2024 between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Kootenay Foundation for Health, an organization close to Judy’s heart.
