Joseph "George" St. Germain
December 25, 1930 - July 2, 2018
Tribute
It is with deep sorrow that the family of George St.Germain announce his passing on Monday, July 2, 2018 surrounded by his family at the EK Regional Hospital. Dad was born on December 25, 1930 in St. Boniface, Manitoba, the middle son of Joseph and Jeannette.
Our dad worked on the railway and made his way out west where he started his career with Cominco in Riondel, BC. This is where he met the love of his life and his best friend Margo. They had four children, Joey Mitchell George (1959-1959), Yvonne Nelson (Brad), Tammy Stasuik (Pat), Jamie St. Germain (Michelle), three foster children Gary, Cheryl and Karen Louie and numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren.
In 1970 when the Blue Bell mine closed our family moved to Elkford . Dad and mom spent close to 20 years there raising their children and volunteering in the community. Their door was always open and they had a bed for anyone.
Our dad loved life; he loved spending time with his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to fish, hunt, swim in the Goat River and he walked every day that he could. Dad was a scout leader, hockey coach, curler, volunteer and Elk’s member.
Dad and mom never sat still and they were always travelling somewhere – Winnipeg, the coast, many US and world destinations. They sampled different beer and wine, met lots of new friends and saw many different countries.
Our dad was a very kind soul. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone and everyone that met him will never forget him. He was an amazing man and we will miss him sooooo much.
The family is planning a celebration of life for the fall.
Donations in dad’s honour can be made to the Children’s Lunch Program c/o the Salvation Army or a local charity of your choice.

Relation: He was my UNCLE
My favourite uncle, who spent time with me and teaching me to be honest and always give the best I can. He was a huge part of making me be who I am. He taught me how to give from my heart and be honest. He showed me that you can share with others who have less, and help them have it better whether it is a small thing like a smile or to just say hello. It can have a HUGE impact to that person that needed it at the time. He always gave the best. I will miss him GREATLY. I LOVE YOU AUNTY MARGO. I am thinking of you all. THANKS FOR SHARING HIM WITH US. XOXOXO
