John Malcolm Abar passed away at the Rocky Mountain Care Village in Fernie, BC on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the age of 83 years.
John was born in Kitchener, BC on August 8, 1928 to Sydney and Cora Abar. He was a very musically talented man and could play just about any instrument his set his mind to playing. John was an old time logger and loved spending his time outdoors fishing and hunting. He is the last surviving sibling in his family.
John was a very happy-go-lucky person with an exceptionally good humour and mild nature about him. He loved life very much.
John married the mother of his children, Edna and has left his five beloved children to mourn his passing: Yvonne (Al), Jim (Cindy), Gale (Brent), Carol and Syd (Heather). He also leaves 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. John was predeceased by one grandson, Ryan.
A Graveside Service will be held at Westlawn Cemetery in Cranbrook on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.
