Ivy May Rose Gendron

Tribute
As her final days were spent surrounded by her family, Ivy passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on August 9th 2012. Ivy was predeceased by her father Victor Dahl; grandson Shawn Currier; mother-in-law Florida Gendron; father-in-law Philias Gendron; sister-in-law Shirley Gendron. Ivy leaves to cherish her memory forever in their hearts, her beloved husband Ray of almost 50 years; her daughter, Lori (Bob) Currier and their son Chris (Ilia), her son Derek (Coralee) Gendron and their children Cody, Jessica and Katelyn; great grandchildren Caitlyn, Madison, Chance, Hayden; mother Doris; sisters Sheran, Connie (Willy), Karen (Brett); brothers Norman (Inez), Orville (Fay), Glen (Sonyau); sister-in-law Dianne (Albert); brothers-in-law Albert (Betty), Oliver (Carol), Edward, Lorne (Cheryl), Alex (Shirley), Bruce and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ivy always maintained an active lifestyle and positive frame of mind, family was the most important. She was cherished and an inspiration to not only her own family, but to all her friends and people that she met.
A memorial service celebrating Ivy’s life, will be held at
Mark Memorial Funeral Home, 2024 Industrial Road #2, Cranbrook, BC
August 17th, 2012 at 1:30 pm.
Internment to follow at Westlawn Cementary, Cranbrook, BC

Had some great visitis with Ivy, Ray, Derek,Lori at the Hospital especially with Ray. As you are very well aware you have my deepest, heartfelt condolence to all the family.
I will miss Ivy too . She was taken away far to early but i know she is in heaven as an angel looking down on us.At least the pain and suffering is now gone.

I spent a large part of my formative years growing up in the Genrdon household and Ivy & Ray were like extended family to me. I’m more than certain Derek, Alan & I were solely responsible for many a grey hair & sleepless night with our reckless skiing, motorcycles, cars and teenage boy antics, but Ivy was always warm, patient and extremely generous with us throughout.
She had a very special way of always making you feel welcome and seemed genuinely interested in everything we did …even the naughty bits. We spent countless hours desecrating her kitchen thinking we were master chefs in the making and Ivy seemed to be able to tolerate it with Saint-like ability in exchange for having us around, having us close and being part of her extended family. I have incredibly fond memories of those days and will always appreciate and cherish the influence Ivy had on my upbringing.
Ray, Lori & Derek, it’s been many, many years but in writing this, it seems like yesterday. My deepest heartfelt condolences go out to you and your families. Ivy was an amazing person and I’m very glad to have been a very small part of her gigantic life.

Relation: Second Mother.
Mr/ Mrs Gendron were the second set of parents that Darren and I both seemed to need I think. Whether it was getting us to the ski hill, getting us to the lake, loaning us the boat, or taking us on vacation. The Gendron’s could always be counted on to come through, to keep us on the straight and narrow, to keep us busy and teach us a little about life along the way. It’s hard to describe how much time I spent in their house and it’s harder still to imagine the kind of man I might have become without their influence.
My deepest condolences go out to Ray, Derek and Lori and the rest of the Gendron Family on this saddest of days. Ivy was an amazing lady who loved me as though I was her own and I know that even today having not seen her for many years. She will be missed by all who where fortunate enough to know her.
