Mrs. Irma Henkels of Cranbrook, BC passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2012. She was born in Biskupie, Germany on July 13, 1942. She was well known for her work at the Cranbrook Hospital for 25 years and in many volunteer capacities. Irma”s sense of adventure took her to places around the globe and to many treasured friendships. She is survived by her daughter, Karen and son-in-law Mark of Smiths Grove, KY, three amazing grandchildren, Jessica, Mitchell and Grace, nephew, Norman and niece, Heidi. Irma is predeceased by her husband, Bill.
Funeral service and celebration of Irma”s life to be held at Christ the Servant Church at 1 pm on Saturday, May 26, 2012.
In liei of flowers, those wishing to remember Irma may do so with donations to the Homeless Shelter, c/o the United Way. Irma will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

I still remember a night we spent laughing and giggling so loud in 1986 that the people in the room next to us pounded on the walls asking us to go to sleep afterall it was about 2 a.m…our friendship grew and many years of sharing some fun times occured. She will be missed..
