Irma Lottie Maloney (Janzen)
June 12, 1943 - March 23, 2026
Tribute
Surrounded by love, Irma Maloney peacefully passed away on March 23 at the age of 82.
Born on June 12 in Oliver, BC, to Henry and Elizabeth Janzen, Irma spent her childhood among the orchards, cherishing moments with family and friends. In 1967, she met Barry Maloney, the love of her life, and they eloped to Coeur D’Alene for a shot gun wedding in March of 1968. Their journey began in Kimberley, where they welcomed their three children, before settling in Sparwood. Irma continued her career at the Royal Bank until she and Barry retired to Cranbrook in 2005.
Irma was predeceased by her husband, Barry in 2019, her parents, and her brother John. She is survived by her brother David, her children Shaun (Nicole), Krista (Steve), and Korri (Johan), her grandchildren Kayla, Sierra, Gage, Josh, Emily, Mason, and Eve, and her great-grandchildren Koen, Sawyer, and an expected arrival in November.
Irma loved playing bridge, bingo, and visiting the casino, surrounded by a wonderful circle of friends who brought her great joy. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved them more than anything. Irma passed away on hers and Barry’s 58th anniversary all dressed up to have dinner with the love of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cranbrook and Kimberley Hospice Society or a local hospice are appreciated.

My sincere condolences to all of Irma’s family. Your Mom was a wonderful caring person that I was so fortunate to have in my life.
Irma loved playing bridge and helping others enjoy the game. Luckily for me when she needed a new challenge in her life she agreed to mentor me.
Thank you for your help and your patience wth me but especially thank you for your wonderful friendship. Rest in peace my friend …
