Gordon Lyle Jolie (June Jolie)

June 13, 1957 - December 20, 2021

Tribute

On Monday, December 20, 2021, Gordon Lyle Jolie passed away at home in Cranbrook at the age of 64 years.  Gordon was born on June 13, 1957 in Nelson, BC as one of four children born to Lyle and Shirley Jolie.

Gord was a loving husband, father, brother and son.  He was passionate about many things but none more than his love of music.  One of his greatest pleasures in life was singing and playing his standup Bass in a small band.

Gord  was skilled in many aspects of life.  He never shied away from tackling tasks or projects both at home and work.  Some friends even nicknamed him “MacGyver” as he could fix anything.  He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Gord leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife June; his son Dylan and his daughter Erin (Sean) McKinnon as well as his two stepsons Chris Shipley and his partner Danielle and Travis Shipley and his partner Tanya. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, two step grandchildren,  his father Lyle (Betty) Jolie and two sisters, Sheri Deatrich and Jocelyn Fiorentino.  Gord was predeceased by his brother Daryl Jolie and his mother Shirley Mae Jolie.

At Gord’s request, there will be no service.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.mark memorial

June and family. I am so sorry to hear about Gord, he truly was a great guy. Really enjoyed playing music with him, I think that he was only 13 or 14 when we first played together in his Dad’s band. He was already a good bass player at that age. He will certainly be missed in the community. My deepest sympathy. Rachelle also sends her heartfelt condolences.

The world has lost a great man. I did not know Gord well but both he and June were the most caring, kind and helpful friends when I really needed them. They were a hardworking team.
