George Fredrick Wanuk
August 13, 1930 - July 8, 2011
Tribute
Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes and always remains strong. Love never ends. (1 Corinthians 13:4,8)
Our beloved George passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at 80 years of age.
George was so very proud of his family and he loved his wife Lou his partner of 60 years so very much. Their pride and joy are their daughters Darcy and Lisa (David). Grandpa George (GG) so loved and was very proud of his granddaughters Kyla (Charles) and Jadel. He loved his sisters Edna (Kenny) Berglund and Irene (Larry) Perry.
To all those who wish to remember George in lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Kimberley Nature Park or Wildsight to keep rebuilding the Nature that he loved and that surrounds us. He loved fishing in the creek as a boy and was so proud a few years ago that he was once again able to catch a fish in Mark Creek.
Share a beer, a song and a smile today with a friend and remember the good times with George.
A private memorial service will follow.

Thoughts are with you at this sad time.
Death is a heartache that no one can heal.
Love is a memory that no one can steal.

To the Wanuk family,
During this difficult time I wanted you to know you are cared for and thought about.
I found these lines from a poet writing about finding a “Path to Peace” during sorrow.
“Step light,
And look for the sunshine.
Grasp gently
The kindness you find.
Speak softly,
And turn away anger.
Sleep soundly,
At peace with mankind.
Walk proudly
Through all your endeavors.
Remember
The battles you’ve won.
Seek always
The hope of tomorrow.
Step lightly
And look for the sun.”

Sorry to hear of the death of your husband, father, family member and friend. You all can be happy for the love you have shown to him in his healthy times and his times of illness. Fond memories will lighten the dark days brought by death. The Bible passage you have chosen is very appropriate. It will bring you comfort as you practice it in your new challenges.

Your Dad was a truly special person who will be missed by his loving family. Hang in there!
From: Dan Perry
Relation: Uncle George
George was a lover of life. He enjoyed his family and had a good time whenever therewas an occaison. He had a good sense of humor and he worked hard to provide for his family. We were always welcome at George and Lou’s. Lisa’s wedding in 87 was a special moment that we all got together to witness the celebration of David and Lisa. Darcy lived here in Kamloops for a number of years. I can see why my mom (Irene) loved Kimberly. Her brother and sister always enjoyed her company even though we lived far away. George’s bocci pit in the back yard made for some late games and very few measurements. It wasn’t about winning or losing – it was about spending fun time with family. Uncle George was a great guy and he will be missed. Lisa, Darcy and Lou my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dan, Julie, Leah and Jaime Perry.
