We are sad to announce the passing of George Eccleston on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
George and Anna Mae lived in Kimberley until 1999 before moving to Cranbrook. They owned Kimberley Cabins and Texaco until 1978 and George retired from Cominco in 1985. They then focused their attention on their cottage at Christina Lake, George’s favorite place.
George is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Anna Mae and his children; Chris (Olaf) Carlsen, Cindy (Ken) Burrows, Bob Eccleston, Ellen (Don) Schacher and Scott (Candice) Eccleston. He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren,;Steven, Geoff, Sarah, Andrea, Marshall, Benj, Danielle, Silka, Isaac, Marisha, Toron and 10 great grandchildren.
There will be no service by George’s request; a private celebration will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. McIvor and the 3rd floor staff of the EKRH for their compassionate care of George, as well as the neighbors for all their help over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kimberley Dynamiters. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.
