Florence Eva Jensen

Tribute
It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family of Flo Jensen announce her passing on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the age of 89 years. She passed peacefully at Joseph Creek Care Village.
Born to Rudolf and Helena Goetz, she was raised in Tolstoi, and Fort Garry, Manitoba where she met her soul mate and husband of 61 years, Ole Jensen.
Married July 15, 1943, Flo and Ole came to Ta Ta Creek to help with the family ranch. Settling in Kimberley, they had children, Ruth, Gerald and Linda. In 1953, they moved permanently to Ta Ta Creek to run the homestead.
Flo was the custodian at the Ta Ta Creek School until it closed. She then continued in this position at the Wasa School until her retirement. Flo was involved in bowling, Good Sam Club and the Seniors Happy Gang. She enjoyed making and decorating cakes for special occasions as well as working with the Wasa Elementary School Christmas Pageant.
Flo is survived by her children; Ruth (David ) Pighin, Gerald (Sandy) Jensen and Linda (David) Webber. Her grandchildren; Karen Pighin, Eric (Karrie) Pighin, Shastine (Myron) Fischer, Brita Jensen, Davin (Ife) Webber, Halden (Lana) Webber, Chelsea Webber and great grandchildren; Zackary, Chase and Josh Pighin, Jaydon, Dallyn and Jaxon Fischer, Rylan, Azaria and K”syn Jensen and Jacob Webber. She is also survived by brothers; Art, Earney and Albert. Flo was predeceased by her husband; Ole, brother Walter, sisters Irene, Joey, Mary and Louise and great granddaughter Kara Fischer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Wasa Community Church. A private family graveside service has been held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com
The family would like to thank the staff at Joseph Creek Care Village for the exemplary care they took of mom during her stay with them, especially her last days. Your care and compassion are truly appreciated.

Ruth, Gerry and Linda,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families at this time. Having just lost my mom, I know how difficult it is to lose a mother, friend, and confidante. I remember the lovely wedding cake that Aunt Flo made for me when I got married and I still have the rope Christmas wreath she made for me many years ago. I will cherish my memories of visiting the farm and her excellent cooking. Hugs to all, Jennifer.
