In Loving Memory of Ernest William Trask
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my dad, Ernest William Trask, on September 27, 2025, at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, at the age of 79. Ernie was born in Natal, BC, on August 1, 1946. He married the love of his life, Lois, on October 13, 1978.
Ernie lived a full and meaningful life, marked by dedication, pride, and love. He was a proud member of Boilermakers Local 359 and a passionate welder who took great pride in his craft. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him the respect and admiration of his peers throughout his career.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Doris Massey and Cecil Trask, and by his beloved wife, “Lowie”. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Donna Thomson (Jim), Ernie Davis, Amanda Trask, and Christopher Davis (Sharron); his adopted son Steven Windsor, whom he thought of as a son and shared a very special bond with, and his nephew Sheldon Trask (Angela). He will also be deeply missed by many other nieces and nephews.
Ernie was a proud grandfather to Ashley Botterill (Cody), Aaron Botterill (Tanashia), Jayden Trask (Sam), Emry Trask, Conor Kenmuir, Taya Kenmuir, Mikhail, and Anastasia, and a cherished great-grandfather to Paisley, Harper, and Hayden.
Coming from a large family of nine siblings, Ernie treasured the bond he shared with each of them. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. He also deeply loved and missed his loyal dogs, Rex and Bella, and always carried treats in his pocket for the “grand-dogs” — Bella, Bentley, and Cooper — who were constant companions and brightened his days whenever he saw them.
Ernie will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his work, his kind heart, and his deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his warmth, humor, and generosity.
He will be forever loved and never forgotten.

Ernie will be greatly missed at Twin Lakes where he visited daily. He visited Bruce and Louise to make sure they were ok and looked after chores for them. Carrying wood in, shoveling snow and anything else needed so that they could stay in their home longer. He was also a member in good standing of the Gentlemen’s Club.
Condolences to his family.
