Tribute

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our sister and Aunt Elaine Victoria Holm on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital at the age of 64.  Elaine was born on December 5, 1955 in St. Eugene Hospital in Cranbrook, B.C to Afton & Roy Holm of Wardner, B.C., where she resided as a small child.  After living in Kamloops Elaine returned to the Kootenays and Cranbrook in 1984.

Her 4^th St. support staff say they will always remember Elaine having many joys in life; Music, Dancing, Black & White movies and always Coffee!!  Elaine also loved musicals, especially with Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers, and Gene Autrey.  She loved a good joke and would often move/hide items and would giggle to herself until the items were found.  Elaine enjoyed her many walks and picnics in the country and would swing whenever she could find one.  Going out for coffee was always a delight and her birthday lunches with her family were always joyful.  What Elaine couldn’t express with her voice, she was able to with her eyes.  Elaine will be deeply missed by her current and past support staff at 4^th street.

Elaine leaves to mourn her brothers; Cary Holm (Linda), Lorne Holm, & sisters; Carol (Holm) Breakwell, Linnaea (Holm) Molenaar (Peter).  Nephews; Kerby Holm (Tanya), Shane Breakwell (Frank), Cheyenne Bolen, Nieces; Shauna (Breakwell) Doughty (Gregg), Diana Holm, Melissa Holm, Theresa Hall (Don),Linnaea Afton (Bolen) Sandberg (Rustin), and numerous great nephews and great nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, eldest brother Gerald, and brother in law Norman Breakwell, nephew Blaine Holm , and niece Tina Hall.

Elaine’s family would like to sincerely thank her 4^th street support staff for their love and care for her and becoming part of our family.

A graveside service will be held at Westlawn Cemetery on Friday, March 20,2020 at 2 pm.  If friends desire,  donations in lieu of flowers may be made to C.S.C.L (Cranbrook Society for Community Living), 39-13^th Avenue South Cranbrook.
