Eileen May O'Reilly (Boden)

October 28, 1945 - April 19, 2026

Tribute

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our gentle mother, Eileen O’Reilly.

Mom was a kind and gentle soul who loved God deeply. She raised her four children to follow in His ways.

Born in Creston, BC, to William and Annie Boden, Mom married her husband, John, in 1961. They shared 51 years together before his passing in 2013. Together, they raised their four children and lived in various communities throughout the East Kootenay, Alberta, and Newfoundland.

Mom’s love of animals was well known, and she took in many strays over the years. She loved gardening and could often be found outside from morning to evening, tending to her yard. She had many interests and a fondness for vibrant colours. She also enjoyed collecting, with clocks being her favourite.

Mom is survived by her children, Patrick, Shannon, Dugan, and Bridget (Tim Fix); her sisters, Lillian and Dorothy; her sister-in-law, Joan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her daughter-in-law, Sherri Selby.

Mom passed away in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, after a short illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter. There will be no funeral, as per her wishes.

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” — Matthew 25:21
