To Ednas Family,
I was sad to hear of the loss of your mother. When I was a young mom on McKenzie Island, Edna was the postmistress on site. I always enjoyed dropping down to gather my mail and have a few words. As time passed we all moved from the island and I used to greet her with the nickname “Old Mailbag” and she always giggled. I met her in town occasionally or at Red Lake’s Senior Christmas dinner and she was always pleasant, alert and without a complaint. She was a delight and will be missed.

Dear Diane, Bob, Jim , Susan
I am sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. I was a friend of Denis and when I visited Red Lake, I would sometimes meet your Mom at the Legion (where she would be in the kitchen working away). We always shared memories of Denis, and I promised her I would think of him every June 8. Visited the gravesite last summer. She was a dear person and very strong.
