Douglas Joseph Sebolsky

October 28, 1954 - October 20, 2015

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 20, 2015, Douglas Joseph Sebolsky passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital at the age of 60 years.  Doug was born in New Westminster, BC on October 28, 1954, son of Matthew and Edith Sebolsky.

Doug loved life and the many good times he had living it!!  He truly enjoyed working at the mill and did so for 40 plus years.  He missed his job a lot when he could no longer work because of his health.  Doug was a hopeless romantic – he loved love story movies as well as westerns and especially Hawaii 5-O.  Rita and Doug loved taking short road trips but their most favorite place of all was to visit Lethbridge.  Many special memories were made there.  Doug loved renovating the homes that he has lived in.  He loved hamburgers but his most  special love was for his two cats – Summer Dawn and Bo-Cephas.

Doug leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Rita; his son Christopher(Tiffany) and his daughter, Morgan.  Also left is his beloved grandson, Walker Douglas Sebolsky as well as his sister and brothers; Audrey, Morris (Linda) and Larry (Terri).   Doug also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and many, many good friends.   Doug was predeceased by his parents Matt and Edith Sebolsky and his sister Myra.

A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Mark Memorial Funeral Home, 2024 Industrial Road No. 2, Cranbrook.  Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Prostate Health, 19 – 9th Ave. S., Cranbrook, BC  V1C 2L9.  Condolences may be left for the family at

To the Sebolsky Family
Sorry to hear about your loss of Doug, I enjoyed all the years of working with him and as it says in his obituary , he was a guy that loved going to work. A big loss to his co-workers and the company as well.

From: Rosemary Sherret
Relation: friend and husband's co worker

I was so shocked to hear the news of Doug passing. I have many memories as Doug had a birthday around my mother’s, Leila Seabrook, of jaffray. Doug and Rita also has a daughter, Morgan, born the same year as our youngest. Our thoughts and prayers are with you for the whole family. My husband, David worked with him/

From: Anne Whitehill-Linfoot
Relation: Girlfriend

My heart is broken to hear that Doug passed. I was his girlfriend at 14 he was 16. That was the summer Doug moved away and I lost his contact information. He was truly a wonderful guy. He set the bar for my future relationships. I tried many times thru the years to re-connect with no luck. I hope he was the recipient of a loving compassionate life, he deserved one.
