Doreen Margaret Brown (Prentice)

November 11, 1926 - August 24, 2020

Tribute

Doreen recently passed away at Joseph Creek Care Village.

Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Vera and William Prentice and her six siblings: Eldeen, Frank, Vern, Harold, Norma and Gordon.

Left to remember Doreen Is her husband of 71 years James Lemin (Lee) and their children: Cynthia (Grant), Dian (Chris),  Bev (Terry) and Jim (Kathy). There are seven grandchildren: Heather (Bernie), Sergio, Alysha (Lou),  Keegan (Jessica), Carlee,  Kaitlyn (Darren) and Miranda.

Great grandchildren include Nolan, Evalena, Liam, Lola, Romyn, Mila and Danika. Also left to remember are several nieces and nephews and many extended family members.

Doreen’s love of music had her singing to her family during her final days. She loved to play the piano and did on so many occasions. Many in the community may remember the skits and musical entertainment she provided over the years. In memory, Doreen would be pleased if everyone attempted to sing at least one song every day. A song always brings a smile to your face and your heart.

The family would like to share their appreciation of all the support staff and medical personnel that cared for Doreen over the past years.

An intimate family gathering and celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Thinking about all of you; Uncle Lemin, Cynthia, Dian, Bev and Jim. Doreen was always very special to me. She lived with us when I was very little and to me she was Doey since Doreen was more than I could manage at the time. Aunt Doreen was a talented musician and singer, a great wife and mom, grandma and great grandma. She will be missed by all of her immediate family. Thinking of you all.

Sorry to read of Doreen’s passing.
Lee I lived next door to you up to a year ago this past April.
Enjoying having you both as a neighbour & know your entire family will be missing her.
Enjoyed her music whenever she sat & played, as by the gathering around the piano many at JC did as well. Thanks for sharing her with us.
