Clifford Wesley Howard Green

April 8, 1933 - November 6, 2023

Tribute

In the early evening hours of Monday, November 6, 2023, Clifford Wesley Howard Green passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital at the age of 90 years.  Cliff was born in Nakusp, BC on April 8, 1933 to Julia and Harold Green.

Cliff married his beloved wife Norma Waldbillig on October 19, 1957 and they were blessed to have been together for 66 years.  Together they had five sons.

After 28 years of service in the RCMP, Cliff retired at the level of Staff Sargent in 1982.  He moved on to Public Works and retired from there at the age of 61 in 1994.  In his retirement he had a passion for building models of Paddle Wheelers – some are displayed in the Nakusp Museum.  Cliff also loved to sing and for many years he sang in the Kootenay Harmony Chorus and the Baker Street Quartet.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Left behind to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Norma and his five sons; Robin (Debbie), Byron, Greg (Norine), Tony (Shelley) and Jon (Shirley).  Also left are his seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Cliff was predeceased by two grandchildren.

There will be no funeral service held at this time.  In memory of Cliff, the family would appreciate donations to the Cranbrook Food Bank Society, 104 – 8th Avenue South, Cranbrook, BC  V1C 2K5.

My condolences to Norma and her family on the loss of Cliff. I first met him when I joined the Kootenay Harmony chorus. Cliff was my mentor. I always looked up to him for his companionship and his caring for all things barbershop. I will miss him. May he rest in peace.

From: James & Sharon Waldbillig
Relation: My Uncle

Aunty Norma and The Boys, sad to hear of Uncle Cliff passing, hope that Aunty Norma is doing OK, best to all of you. I did have the utmost respect for Uncle Cliff. It was always very exciting when our cousins from BC came to visit us in Saskatchewan. And Aunty Norma was a card shark!!

From: Susi Stundner

When I met with Cliff and Norma four years ago, I knew that it would be the last time and saying good-bye was very hard. I will remember Cliff as a man of integrity, but also as a loving father and caring husband. My condolences go to the entire family, but especially to Norma. My thoughts are with you.
