Charles ("Bud") Gerald Decosse

May 15, 1948 - April 14, 2023

Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce Bud passed away Friday April 14th, 2023 in Kelowna BC.

Bud was born in Sheridan Manitoba to his parents Annie MacKinnon MacPherson DeCosse and Gerald Antonio DeCosse.   At an early age Bud and his family moved to Kimberley BC.

Bud is survived by his wife Lynda, daughters Stacy and Michelle (Mickey) & husband Gordon Atwood.  Also surviving are his granddaughters Dakota (Ashton), Cassidy (Emma) and Ryland, his brother Michael (Mick) & wife Tamara. Sister-in-laws Brenda (Roy), Sandra (Dan), and brother-in-law Wally (Karen). Nieces and nephews surviving are Sheldon (Renee), Amber, Bryce (Anna), Angus (Van), Sam (Devon), Bob (Elaine), Bill (Jodi), Sara (Carson), Antonia, Amy.

Bud was predeceased by his parents Anne and Gerald, his brother Jim and sister Lori.

Bud was a good father, grandfather, and loving husband.

Bud was an accomplished musician.  His mother said that when he could barely walk. he would stand in-front of the old radio and dance to the music.  By the time he was in his early twenties he was playing in bands locally and continued to do so until just a couple of years ago.  After he retired from working for a living, he started following and playing the Bluegrass Music circuit in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Idaho, Washington and Oregon, this music at this stage of his life was perfect.

Bud made tight, lasting friendships with many in the music community.  He told me that once you sit down and play music with someone you are friends for life and he really believed that.

There will be a service Saturday April 29, 2023 in the Kimberley Curling Club at 2:00 PM with a cash bar and an acoustic jam session to follow.  Bring your guitars, everyone welcome.

We would like to thank all the doctors that aided in his care the past few years, specifically:

Dr Kate Buddo Kimberley, Dr Vade Cranbrook, Dialysis nurse team Cranbrook.

Dr Zhang and Dr Raju and their Kidney care team Trail

Dr James Harris and his Vascular team Kelowna

Dr Michaud and her Dialysis team Kelowna
