Tribute
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Calvin Carl Nightingale passed away at home in Cranbrook at the age of 69 years. Calvin suffered from COPD and suffered with chronic lung issues. Calvin was born in Kelvington, Saskatchewan on January 28, 1956. He was the fourth son of eight children born to Dennis and Peggy Nightingale.
Calvin worked for many years as a roofer in Cranbrook. He was well known by many people and he loved to tell jokes. He loved to speak in his Donald Duck voice to the children. Kids loved him!!
Calvin leaves to mourn his sons: Cody (Erin) and Kevin (Patty) as well as his most beloved grandson, Marcus. Marcus was the apple of his eye and he loved him dearly. Also left are his siblings; brothers Neil and Tim (Michelle) and his only sister Holly (Rob) Hubley. He leaves a sister-in-law Sandra (Ron) and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Calvin was predeceased by his only daughter, Christine; his parents Dennis and Peggy Nightingale; his brothers Ron, Murray, Dave and Ed.
A Celebration of Life for Calvin will be held at a later date. In honor of Calvin, memorial donations would be gratefully accepted to the Canadian Lung Association on their online donation site at https://cancer.ca/en/ways-to-give/dedicate-your-donation.
