Tribute
Mom was amazing! She knew her mind and never hesitated to speak it. She was deeply loved by her three daughters, Dee (Anderson), Tara and Cosima, and her grandsons Jack (Anderson) and Tao (Buterman). She was like a second mom to many of her daughter's friends, and she will be truly missed by the folks she sang and jammed with in Kimberley, Victoria, Lund and Haida Gwaii. April loved to party, dancing, drumming and singing well into the night. She was passionate about social justice and the environment, and gave generously of her time and expertise in many volunteer roles. In lieu of flowers, please grow more veggies or consider a worm composter for your kitchen. Mom wanted us all to be more food secure, and she would be thrilled that we are getting the word out in her obit.
To commemorate her life, April wanted a party with lots of food, music, and dancing. Anyone who has words to share is invited to speak. Kids welcome, of course! November 5, at 4 p.m., at Marysville’s Resker Hall (660 307th Ave, Kimberley).

Dearest Tara, Cosima, and families…I just want you to know we are thinking of you. There were two things I loved about your mother. Firstly, she was always so very kind. Secondly, she had a smile/laugh that would light up a room. We have a garden and compost but we will plant a fruit bearing tree in her honour in the spring around her birthday. We loved her and we love you. If you need anything at all….call. You are in our prayers.

dearest family, i am thinking of you and the loss you have endured, my favorite memories of your mom, is spending countless nights playing scrabble with my dad, who also has passed. Your mom was strong independent woman and i looked up to her in many ways. She was a great source of strength for me when parent divorced i loved singing and drumming with her in the red cedar circles of Lund, she will missed but never forgotten.
