Anne Everett Pique (Burroughs)

December 13, 2022 - May 24, 2022

Tribute

IAnne was born Anne Everett Burroughs in Bellows Falls Vermont but Alstead New Hampshire was her home. Walter R. Burrows and Mary (Chase) Burrows had a significant history in the community, an influence that the extended Chase and Burrows milies maintain to this day.

Anne married and later divorced Gerald Lee Bacon. Needing a fresh start Anne loaded up the pick-up and with young Charles and his sister Diana headed to Idaho. The family experienced another significant change in direction when Anne Married Joachim (Joe) Pique and moved to Canada. Her love of animals was in full bloom and with the move to Moyie she developed her riding skills to include dressage, barrel racing and more. Second only to her love of horses was her appreciation of the hunting and shooting sports. Her rifle marksmanship training started back in public school where she would pack her rifle to school on the bus and train with the team on the school’s basement range… now she and the family were shooting Rifle Silhouette at provincial and National Championships. It was after Joe’s passing that Anne would embark on the greatest adventures of her life. Anne joined up with longtime friend and later married James (Jim) Zimmerman. Jim and Anne had a love story for the ages and set to a 10 year spree of nonstop adventure. International travel, shooting, motorcycle riding, hiking were all part of the great adventure that continued to her last breath May 24th, 2022. Anne touched a lot of lives and we are all the richer for sharing whatever piece of her life we were allotted. Ride on Anne, ride on.

Relation: A Very Dear Friend

Jim, Charlie & Diana – Francis are so saddened by Anne’s passing. She was my best buddy. We shared so many interesting and fun times at the shooting range, in the photography field, watching her with her horses and our many wonderful visits she had with us in Calgary. Our conversations were long and varied and each drew something special from the other. I am going to miss her so much. Jim, thank you for giving her the best 10 years of her adult life. She loved you dearly and spoke to me many times about the way she was treated by you. I am so glad she found you. If you have a minute can you either phone me (403-276-5837) after 6 our time or email me. Thanks.

Jim
You really did give Anne the best years of her life and for that I am grateful – was so great to see you last fall at the glass shop and see the sparkle in Anne’s eyes as you were about to leave to the south.
I remember Anne’s insatiable smile at Barrel Racing events – where her and Montana played hard and smiled everytime she left the arena whether she had a good run or a not so great run- Anne was just happy to be there with friends and horses.
She was a very special individual and she will be missed but her smile and memory will live on.
